Just in time for Thanksgiving, here’s a craft project you can make together with your child to get you both into the spirit of family and fall! There is practically no sewing required – just cutting shapes from felt (from the free pattern, below), writing with fabric markers, gluing, a few lines of simple stitching, and stuffing! You child can help choose the names to go on the tree (e.g. suggesting a pet or favorite friend or anyone else they consider “family”), write them, apply the glue, arrange the leaves, and help adhere them, and you can do everything else (i.e. everything requiring sharp scissors and a needle). It will be a true collaboration you’ll both be proud of! If you’re going to someone else’s home for Thanksgiving, include the names of everyone who will be there, and bring it as a hostess gift/memento that will surely be appreciated.
