A while back I made a housewarming gift by embroidering some old-fashioned floursack dishtowels with dancing vegetables (blogged about here). I decided to list them in my etsy shop as an order I could custom make again, and lo and behold, got an order for them yesterday! Since I had to recreate the pattern anyway for the order (I just drew & stitched them directly on the towels last time), I figured it was time for another free embroidery pattern & tutorial.

1. Upcycled some old t-shirts and fabric scraps and a large apparel box into some fabric-covered boxes to hold hats and mittens. Tucker helped me with this one, reminding me of each family member's favorite color and choosing the "font" for the labels. Not the most professional-looking project but gets the job done of eliminating the total chaos that shelf has embodied in winters past! Hopefully this winter there will be fewer delays caused by inability to find one's accessories.
We are all different. There is no such thing as a standard or run of the mill human being--but we share the same human spirit. However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at. While there's life, there is hope.
